Fall 2024 Accessibility Improvements

Posted in News
Many improvements were made to increase accessibility on our campuses.
- Elevator Outage Signage: Over 250 signs with braille, tactile letters and a QR code to the accessible campus map have gone up across campus.
- American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter Master Service Agreement:
- Launched on Aug. 27, 2024, the Master Agreement with Deaf Access Solutions aims to promote ease of booking and budgeting for American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters and other similar services, such as CART (Communication Access Real-time Translation) and language interpreters.
- When booking these specialized accessibility services, a new Master Service Agreement will be available in addition to a best practices resource to ensure the best experience for all involved.
- The how-to guide, contract number and best practices resource will be available on IDEAA’s website.
- If you have any questions about booking these services and/or compliance, please reach out to IDEAA at ideaa@georgetown.edu or 202-687-4798.
- Building interiors are now live on the campus map, providing increased access to navigate the interior of buildings.
- Finally, the bricks outside of Alumni House have been repaved, increasing the accessibility and safety of that sidewalk.
