Fall 2025 Accessibility Improvements

- As part of the Elevator Modernization project, the elevators at Building D and Dahlgren Memorial Library at GUMC, and the Healy Hall elevator have been upgraded.
- A new ramp has been provided at the Philodemic Room stage in Healy Hall.
- A new accessible circulation desk has been built at the E.B. Williams Library on the Capitol Campus.
- An exterior accessible path has been provided to the Healy Hall ground floor entry (with interior access to the elevator).
- A new single-user accessible toilet room has been built on the Healy Hall ground floor as part of the newly renovated Healy G project.
- Visual contrast has been provided at steps within the ICC auditorium and at the stairs leading from the ICC third-floor atrium to the second floor, to improve safety and access for people with low vision.
Additionally, multiple new projects have been completed with accessible features
- Newly built residence halls (Hayden and Byrnes) provide accessible apartment-style dorm rooms on each floor and accessible common areas throughout the facilities.
- The renovated 111 Mass. Ave. building at the Capitol Campus has accessible spaces throughout, including but not limited to restrooms, sensory room, classrooms, office space and common areas.
